LOS ANGELES, Dec. 5 (UPI) — Ryan Coogler is in talks to helm the comic-book adaptation Marvel’s Black Panther, starring Chadwick Boseman, Variety reported.
Coogler, 29, is best known for directing the critical darlings Fruitvale Station and Creed.
Joe Robert Cole is writing the screenplay for Black Panther, which is set for theatrical release July 6, 2018.
Directors Ava DuVernay and F. Gary Gray were previously attached to helm the film, but ultimately passed on the project.
