‘Sabado Gigante’ to wrap Sept. 19 after 53 years

LOS ANGELES, April 19 (UPI) — The Spanish-language, television variety show Sabado Gigante is to wrap Sept. 19 after 53 years, Univision announced.

Chilean-born Don Francisco is the host of the program.

“It’s with no small amount of emotion that I’m announcing that after 53 years, the hit show Sabado Gigante is ending,” Entertainment Weekly quoted Francisco as saying in a translated statement. “Thirty of those years were possible thanks to Univision in the United States.”
