Edinburgh (AFP) – Stuart Hogg scored two tries as Scotland beat Ireland 27-22 for a landmark win to open their Six Nations campaign.

Scotland had lost their previous four games against the Irish dating back to 2013.

Man-of-the-match Hogg crossed with two first-half tries as the Scottish built up a domineering 21-8 half-time lead. But Ireland fought back to 24-22 before Greig Laidlaw’s last-minute penalty put the game beyond doubt.
