LOS ANGELES, March 12 (UPI) — Longtime artistic collaborators Sean “Diddy” Combs and Mary J. Blige are to guest star on the hit sitcom black-ish, ABC announced Thursday.
The music icons will appear in a May episode about the Johnson family’s history and set in the 1920s Harlem Renaissance.
Combs will play a gangster and nightclub owner, while Blige will play the club’s headliner.
The show’s usual stars Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross will also appear in the flashback episode, which will feature choreography by Fatima Robinson.
The installment called “Pops’ Pops’ Pops” was written by Vijal Patel and directed by Jonathan Groff.
