WASHINGTON, Dec. 9 (UPI) — Selena Gomez defended herself on Instagram Tuesday after critics accused her of lip-syncing at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
While the 2015 show debuted on CBS, Victoria’s Secret’s official Instagram page posted a photo of Gomez before her Nov. 10 performance with the caption, “Lights out. @selenagomez is ready.” Soon after the post, critics poured accusations into the comment section, claiming the 23-year-old opted to lip-sync.
“Yes I [expletive] sing live,” Gomez is reported to have written among the photo’s 1,700 comments.
The former Disney actress performed two songs from her latest record, Revival, including “Hands To Myself” and “Me & My Girls” at the highly anticipated fashion event.
Gomez was spotted with rumored romantic interest Niall Horan twice over the weekend before the fashion show aired. The supposed couple were reportedly witnessed kissing during the star-studded birthday party for Jenna Dewan and the next day recorded together at the Santa Monica pier.
Gomez previously dated “Sorry” singer Justin Bieber, who recently shared a throwback photo of the two when they were together.
