WASHINGTON, June 26 (UPI) — Singer and actress Selena Gomez released her “Good For You” music video Friday after weeks of teasing fans with messages and sneak-peak photos.
In the new stripped-down clip, Gomez, 22, lounges alone wearing several casual looks, and is even filmed naked for a subtle-yet-sexy shower scene. She croons, “Cause I just wanna look good for you, good for you,” in her distinctive, low-key voice, expertly matching the mood of the highly anticipated release. Although the clip is thickly romantic, hints of sarcasm can be sensed from Gomez’s multiple gazes straight into the camera’s lens.
This minimalist video uses a different version of Gomez’s single released Monday featuring rapper A$AP Rocky.
“Good For You” will appear on the singer’s upcoming album, the release date for which has yet to be announced. In the meantime, Gomez has given her fans what they’ve been asking for — a creative, Selena-centric video that pulls at all the right heartstrings.
