March 24 (UPI) — Selena Gomez teamed with Coach on Thursday to surprise high school students.

The 24-year-old singer, who was named a spokeswoman for the brand in December, spent an “inspirational” day with teenagers in the Step Up program at two schools in Los Angeles.

“@instagram is celebrating world kindness day and I got to spend it with people who fully will change our world one day,” Gomez wrote on Instagram.

“@coach introduced me to @stepupwomensnetwork which is an after school organization that encourages girls to believe that they have the capability to do anything they set their mind to. It’s crazy to me how much they are willing to put others before themselves. #CoachXStepUP #DreamBig,” she added.

The Coach Foundation pledged $3 million to Step Up in November to support the non-profit’s mentorship programs for “teen girls in under-resourced communities,” according to the Coach website. The programs offer “young women the support, confidence and connections to fulfill their potential.”

“I am truly thrilled to be involved with Coach and their support of Step Up,” Gomez said in a statement.

“Step Up’s mission to empower young women is personally important to me and something even more crucial in under-served communities,” she added. “Working with the young women I met today was an inspirational experience I will never forget.”

Gomez last released the album Revival in 2015, and will executive produce the new Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. The show stars Katherine Langford as Hannah Baker, and will premiere March 31.
