LOS ANGELES, Sept. 16 (UPI) — Shailene Woodley stars in an action-packed first The Divergent Series: Allegiant teaser trailer.
The preview sees the 23-year-old actress, Theo James and Miles Teller venture beyond the Wall and past the ruins of post-apocalyptic Chicago as Tris, Four and Peter, respectively. Tris also encounters David (Jeff Daniels), who tells her she may be the key to saving the world.
The movie is directed by Robert Schwentke, who helmed The Divergent Series: Insurgent to success at the box office. The film opens in theaters Mar. 18, 2016, and co-stars Ansel Elgort as Caleb, Zoe Kravitz as Christina and Octavia Spencer as Johanna.
Allegiant is based on the final book of the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth. The story was preceded by Divergent and Insurgent, and will be split into two parts for the film adaptation — Allegiant and The Divergent Series: Ascendant.
