NEW YORK (AP) — Recording a new album isn’t the only thing CeeLo Green has done in the last year: The singer revealed that he also proposed to his longtime girlfriend.
Green, 41, told People magazine that he’s been engaged to Shani James, 38, for about a year. A representative for the Grammy winner confirmed the engagement on Friday.
Green will release a new album, “Heart Blanche,” on Nov. 6.
The former “Voice” coach said he and James didn’t want to promote their engagement.
“We’re a collective power together because our private life is sacred. But you know … maybe it is time for the world to know that I have a very secure situation and a loving woman supporting me the entire way,” he said.
Green was previously married to Christina Johnson.
