LOS ANGELES, Feb. 6 (UPI) — Model and social-media star Katie May has died in Los Angeles after being removed from life support, following a catastrophic stroke this week. She was 34.
TMZ reported May died surrounded by her loved ones Thursday evening.
She had been hospitalized since Monday in critical condition after a blockage in her carotid artery caused the stroke.
The former Playboy and Sports Illustrated model has nearly 2 million followers on Instagram and was known as the “Queen of Snapchat.”
She is survived by a 7-year-old daughter.
“Hope everyone is having a great Monday! It’s very windy here today in LA,” reads May’s final Instagram post last Monday, shortly before she collapsed. “#bikini #california #beach #lagunabeach.”
The message accompanied a photo of her wearing a bikini and aviator-style sunglasses, and climbing on rocks near a beach.
