‘Sopranos’ actor John ‘Cha Cha’ Ciarcia dead at 75

NEW YORK, Dec. 2 (UPI) — John Ciarcia, best known for his role as Albie Cianfione on HBO’s The Sopranos, died late last month after a brief illness. He was 75 years old.

Ciarcia’s family announced his death in The New York Times on Sunday, outlining his many accomplishments including his ownership of the popular Little Italy restaurant, Cha Cha’s In Bocca Al Lupo.

“Known as ‘The Mayor of Little Italy,’ he was an actor, producer, celebrity manager, boxing promoter and radio host,” the obituary reads. He appeared in such films as Hoffa, A Brooklyn State of Mind, Mamamia, Death to Smoochy and Goodfellas.

He was also a regular guest on fellow Sopranos actor Vincent Pastore’s radio show, The Wiseguy Show.

Ciarcia is survived by his wife, Karen King, and extended family.
