AUGUSTA, Ga., April 12 (UPI) — Jordan Spieth emerged victorious in the 79th Masters on Sunday as Justin Rose and Phil Mickelson kept close behind.
Speith {link:finished the fourth round: “http://www.pgatour.com/yahoo/leaderboard.html”,nw} with -2 from 70 strokes, with -18 overall, while Mickelson came in second with -3 in a 69-stroke round, with -14 overall. Rose ended the 18th hole at -2 from 69 strokes, with -14 overall.
Speith, 21, had dominated the previous three days of the tournament at Augusta National Golf Club, going into the fourth and final day with a four-point lead after {link:setting a Masters record: “http://www.wsj.com/articles/spieth-sets-masters-record-for-lowest-54-hole-score-1428803800″,nw} with a 54-hole score of 200 — one stroke lower than the previous record held by Tiger Woods in 1997 and Raymond Floyd in 1976.
