‘Spy’ tops the North American box office with $30 million

LOS ANGELES, June 7 (UPI) — Melissa McCarthy’s comedy caper Spy is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $30 million during its premiere weekend, Rentrak announced Sunday.

Coming in at No. 2 is San Andreas with $26.4 million, followed by Insidious Chapter 3 at No. 3 with $23 million, Entourage at No. 4 with $10.4 million and Mad Max: Fury Road at No. 5 with $8 million.

Rounding out the top tier are Pitch Perfect 2 at No. 6 with $7.7 million, Tomorrowland at No. 7 with $7 million, Avengers: Age of Ultron at No. 8 with $6.2 million, Aloha at No. 9 with $3.3 million and Poltergeist at No. 10 with $2.8 million.
