VISAKHAPATNAM, England, Nov. 17 (UPI) — A cricket game between the English and Indian teams came to a halt in India when a stray dog wandered onto the pitch and led security staff on a chase.
The teams were facing off in the second test of a five-test series at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam Thursday when the dog trotted onto the pitch while India was ahead 210-2.
Security staff appeared to have chased the dog away from the play area, but the canine returned moments later to roars from the crowd.
The chase featured some bizarre moments, including the dog stopping to poop and a security staff member appearing to throw his shoe at the canine.
Umpires eventually decided to call an early tea time to give staff members at the facility time to capture the dog with players off the pitch.
