PHOENIX (AP) — The Phoenix Suns’ three point-guard experiment is over.
People with knowledge of the trades say two of the three, Goran Dragic and Isaiah Thomas, were among five players traded by the Suns at Thursday’s deadline.
Dragic went to the Miami Heat, and Thomas to the Boston Celtics. The Suns sent a third point guard, rookie Tyler Ennis, to the Milwaukee Bucks, along with forward Miles Plumlee. Dragic’s brother, Zoran, also went to the Heat.
Those who confirmed the trades did not want to be identified because the deals have not been made public pending a routine review by the NBA office.
The main acquisition of the Suns is Brandon Knight, a Milwaukee Bucks starter who plays the point but probably will start alongside point guard Eric Bledsoe in the overhauled Phoenix backcourt.
