SAN MATEO, Calif., Nov. 16 (UPI) — To coincide with the release of “Star Wars: Battlefront,” Sony has revealed that the Super Nintendo classic, “Super Star Wars” would also be released onto Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita Tuesday.
According to Sony’s official Playstation Blog, this digital re-release will come “enhanced for PS4 with new save features, leaderboards, Trophies, and updated display and controller options.”
“Risk your life as a Jedi Knight! Join Luke, Han, and Chewbacca in their fierce war against the evil Empire,” the description reads.
The side-scrolling shooter was originally released on the Super Nintendo in 1992 and was last made available through the Wii’s Virtual Console in 2009. “Super Star Wars” is also listed as a cross-buy title meaning those who purchase the game will be able to access it on either Playstation 4 or Playstation Vita.
On Tuesday, one of the year’s most anticipated games, “Star Wars: Battlefront” will finally hit stores promising fans epic, 40-player online battles across the series’ most iconic locations such as Hoth and Endor a month before Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on Dec. 18.
