Tamar Braxton leaves hospital following ‘Dancing’ departure

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18 (UPI) — Tamar Braxton left the hospital Tuesday, a week after her Dancing with the Stars departure.

The 38-year-old singer announced the news in a video on Instagram, writing, “Look at God!! #soblessed Thank you all for your prayers I [heart] you all so much.”

Braxton was forced to withdraw from the ABC reality competition after she was hospitalized last week for blood clots in her lungs. The star was ecstatic about her release when she spoke to TMZ at a pharmacy later in the day.

“I’m so excited to be back,” she told the website. “[Thank you to] all of my fans. [Dancing partner] Val [Chmerkovskiy] is amazing and Dancing with the Stars, I miss everybody. [I’m not 100 percent], but I’m out of the hospital.”

Braxton and Chmerkovskiy had excelled with their routines, earning a perfect score for their jazz number in week 6. Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough, Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold, Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson and Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess remain in competition.

Braxton was also forced to cancel tour dates with KEM due to her hospitalization. The singer last released Calling All Lovers in October, and she and sisters Traci, Towanda, Trina and Toni Braxton star on VH1 series Braxton Family Values.
