Taylor Swift says ‘I’m sorry’ to Nicki Minaj after Twitter feud

NEW YORK, July 24 (UPI) — Taylor Swift has apologized for her Tuesday comment when she called out Nicki Minaj on Twitter, Entertainment Tonight reports.

Minaj, upset that her widely popular “Anaconda” music video was not nominated for MTV’s Video of the Year Award, took to Twitter to express her views regarding racism against black women in music.

The “Bad Blood” singer took the comment as an insult and accused Minaj for pitting “women against each other.”

After much criticism rained in regarding her misguided tweet and fuller explanation by Minaj on Instagram, Swift apologized Thursday saying, “I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I’m sorry, Nicki.”

Minaj accepted Swift’s apology, acknowledging that “everyone makes mistakes” and said that she now has even greater respect for her fellow music artist.
