NEW YORK, July 21 (UPI) — During an interview with Jake Gyllenhaal Monday, ABC’s Good Morning America (GMA) played his former love interest’s, Taylor Swift’s latest single “Bad Blood” as his intro music.
While GMA host Robin Roberts introduced the “Southpaw” actor on set, Swift’s latest song “Bad Blood” played in the background, which Twitter users claim was inappropriate due to the past romantic history both celebs share. One individual on Twitter said the move was “cold” while another said it was a complete “burn.”
Gyllenhaal and Swift dated briefly in the fall of 2010, after which he was allegedly the subject of such songs as “State of Grace,” “Red” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” The couple had a difficult breakup but now seem to be at peace with each other after they exchanged words and embraced at a Golden Globes party earlier this year.
“Bad Blood” is Taylor’s current single, whose music video reached 20.1 million views within 24 hours.
Gyllenhaal’s boxing film “Southpaw” opens in theaters Friday.
The actor gracefully said he did not take notice in the background music playing during the GMA taping, but fans on Twitter say they noticed a subtle facial expression he made as the song faded out prior to the interview getting started.
GMA told Gossip Cop on Monday that it was a coincidence.
