DANBURY, Conn., Dec. 21 (UPI) — Teresa Giudice will be released from prison Dec. 23, nearly one year after she was incarcerated for fraud.
The 43-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star’s attorney, James Leonard, Jr., confirmed to NorthJersey.com on Sunday. Giudice entered prison Jan. 5, and is being released over three months early.
“She will be on home confinement, until Feb. 5,” Leonard revealed. “During that period, she will be able to work, she will be able to take care of business, medical [things]. She’ll be out and about. And when that period ends, she will begin a [two-year] period of supervised release.”
Giudice will be allowed to attend family events if she communicates with and obtains permission from the person supervising her release. The star will reportedly spend Christmas Eve with husband Joe Giudice and their four children at brother Joe Gorga’s house.
“We’re excited,” sister-in-law Melissa Gorga told Bravo. “We’re gonna do [The Feast of the] Seven Fishes; we’re gonna do all the fish. It should be fun. The kids are excited [for] a big Italian Christmas Eve. We’re gonna be all together on Christmas Eve, so it’s a beautiful thing.”
“I think Christmas is just always so nice,” she added. “It’s just a sweet time, especially this year it’s such a blessing that everyone can be together for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day … Everyone knows that the holidays are the time when people come together.”
Giudice and her husband were sentenced to 15 and 41 months in prison, respectively, for fraud in October 2014. The pair were allowed to serve their terms separately on account of their four daughters, with Joe Giudice slated to enter prison in February 2016.
