LOS ANGELES (AP) — Terrence Howard is in court trying to overturn a divorce settlement with his ex-wife.
The Oscar-nominated actor and star of the hit television series “Empire” was expected to testify during the hearing that began Tuesday.
Howard contends the 2013 agreement that dictated how his ex-wife Michelle Ghent would be paid was extorted by Ghent by threatening to leak embarrassing information about his sex life.
Ghent’s lawyers say she denies the claim by Howard.
Ghent has accused Howard of domestic violence and is seeking money she says is owed under their divorce settlement.
Howard and Ghent were married in 2010. She filed for divorce a year later.
