MIAMI, Jan. 9 (UPI) — Another Testaverde will soon woo Miami football fans again.
On Wednesday, Vincent Testaverde Jr. announced he would be leaving Texas Tech and transferring to the University of Miami. Testaverde walked on with the Red Raiders for his freshman season but appeared in just one game.
Miami’s current quarterback, Brad Kaaya, won ACC Rookie of the Year this season. Testaverde’s father won the 1986 Heisman trophy while quarterbacking the Hurricanes, before being selected as the top pick in the 1987 NFL draft. In four seasons with the Hurricanes, Testaverde completed 61 percent of his passes for 6,058 yards, 48 touchdowns and 25 interceptions.
Testaverde Jr. passed for 116 yards on 15-of-26 passing with an interception in his Nov. 1 debut against Texas.
