PHOENIX, Jan. 30 (UPI) — The alarm keeps going off in the wing of the hotel where the Patriots are staying before Sunday’s Super Bowl.
The first alarm went off at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday and kept ringing for 10 minutes. The front desk at the hotel called the incident “an anomaly” but suspicions were raised when it happened a second time.
Thursday morning, the alarm went off at 5 a.m., opening the possibility it was someone pulling the alarm.
“We apologize to our guests,” said Sheraton Wild Horse Pass public relations director Stephanie Sanstead. “We are taking this matter very seriously. We are reviewing everything.”
If the goal was to disturb the players during their pre-game beauty sleep, it was not achieved.
“I slept right through it,” tight end Rob Gronkowski said of the first alarm. “I slept great last night. I’m glad I didn’t hear it.”
Tom Brady, who has been fighting a cold, didn’t hear it either.
“I haven’t heard it. Must be sleeping through it, so that’s good,” he said. “I slept great.”
