WASHINGTON, Dec. 7 (UPI) — Celebrities often opt for unusual names for their precious offspring and 2015 has been no exception.
From Atlas to Saint here a some of the weirdest names celebs chose for their kids this year.
1. Saint West
The latest couple to reveal an unusual baby name is Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. The stars welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Saint, on Saturday. Their first child, born in June 2013, is called North.
2. Elsie Otter Pechenik
Actress Zooey Deschanel said in October she and husband Jacob Pechenik chose the name because they “just really like the name Elsie and we both love otters.”
3. Sailor Gene Gardner
Liv Tyler and David Gardner went with a nautical theme for their first child together.
4. Atlas Norton
While Edward Norton and his producer wife Shauna welcomed their son in 2013, the pair didn’t reveal the name until 2015.
5. Briar Rose Christensen
Jumper co-stars Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen named their daughter after the Grimm Brothers fairytale Sleeping Beauty. Briar Rose is the name given to Princess Aurora by the fairies who adopt her to protect her from Maleficent.
6. Titan Jewell Witherspoon
Destiny’s Child alum Kelly Rowland said her husband Tim Witherspoon chose the name for their first child.
7. Dashiel Edon
Actress Milla Jovovich and her husband writer and director Paul Anderson welcomed Dashiel, their second child, in April. The couple are also parents to 8-year-old Ever.
8. Rocket Zot
Australian actor Sam Worthington and his wife Lara Bingle chose the odd name in honor of Bingle’s late father whose nickname was “Zot.”
