NEW YORK, June 6 (UPI) — Shortly after completing their ninth Philadelphia Picnic Festival, The Roots have announced a diverse lineup of musicians to expand in to New York City this fall.

Scheduled for Oct. 1 and 2 in Manhattan’s Bryant Park, the first night will feature a marquee jam between the Roots, John Mayor and D’Angelo, Rolling Stone reported.

The second evening is dubbed “A Love Letter to New York” which will be headlined by the full Wu-Tang Clan, David Byrne and Nile Rodgers, with backup from the Roots.

The event, like the original Philadelphia Picnic Festival, will give concert goers the unexpected, something The Roots are known for, Billboard Magazine reported.

Live Nation and Maverick are producing the event in partnership with the Bryant Park Corporation. It will be curated entirely by the Roots, That second night will feature Swizz Beatz, Jeremih, Kevin Gates, X Ambassadors, Trombone Shorty and EPMD.
