NASHVILLE, Oct. 6 (UPI) — Tim McGraw and wife Faith Hill celebrated 19 years of marriage Tuesday.
The country music power couple, both 48, marked the occasion by posting sweet messages to each other on social media. “Celebrating 19 years today. Happy Anniversary @thetimmcgraw,” Hill wrote on Twitter.
McGraw delighted fans by sharing a video of himself relating the story of how he got Hill to marry him. The pair wed Oct. 6, 1996, and share three daughters: 18-year-old Gracie, 17-year-old Maggie and 13-year-old Audrey.
“June 26, 1996, we were in the dressing room,” McGraw recalled. “We’d been on tour for a while together and I’d joked around with her about getting married [before]. I looked at her, grabbed her by the hands and I said, ‘I’m really serious. I want you to marry me.’”
McGraw and Hill have collaborated several times throughout their marriage, including on their Soul2Soul show at the Venetian in Las Vegas. McGraw will release his 14th studio album, Damn Country Music, on Nov. 5, while Hill last debuted Joy to the World in 2008.
