NEW YORK, Jan. 7 (UPI) — Time Warner Cable warned up to 320,000 customers’ email addresses and passwords may have been compromised in likely phishing attacks.
TWC Roadrunner accounts with email addresses ending in “@rr.com” may be affected. The FBI is investigating the incident as part of a wider disclosure of data. Time Warner advised customers on Thursday to reset passwords.
Time Warner says there were no indications its systems were breached, but the information was likely gathered through malware downloaded during phishing attacks, or indirectly through data breaches of other companies which stored the company’s customer information.
Customers can call Time Warner Cable for information at 1-844-899-8913, or 1-866-892-4249 for Business Class customers.
