NEW YORK, Dec. 20 (UPI) — Saturday Night Live icons Tina Fey and Amy Poehler returned to the sketch-comedy series this weekend as guest hosts.
The pair sent up Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” video with their own “Dope Squad” clip.
In the pre-taped film, Fey and Poehler enlist broadcast journalist Gayle King and comedian Amy Schumer as members of their squad — the women who help them balance their successful careers and motherhood.
They also gave a shout-out to the ordinary people they appreciate in their lives, such as their nannies, the gynecologist they share, waitresses, etc.
Curent SNL cast member Aidy Bryant also appears as a fawning, television journalist in the video, but she later breaks into a rap during the song, explaining: “I think I get what you guys are saying. Like, a queen ain’t a queen just for sitting on a throne. She needs a whole damn crew, she can’t do it alone. It’s a healthy mix of friends and assistants, offering support and taking care of business.
“You can’t be MIA from the PTA because you’re picking up leche from Trader Jose’s,” Bryant continued.
