LOS ANGELES, April 23 (UPI) — Tina Knowles says her wedding to Richard Lawson was perfect.
The 61-year-old mother of Beyoncé and Solange Knowles opened up about her nuptials in an interview with People. Knowles married Lawson on a yacht earlier this month, and told the magazine she wouldn’t change a thing about the ceremony.
“To walk down the aisle and see all my friends and family and to see my handsome man standin’ there, and to know that at 61 you can still find love and have a magical day like that … it was really beautiful,” the mother-of-two shared.
Daughter Solange Knowles shared a photo of her mother in her wedding dress used for the article Wednesday on Instagram. Knowles wore a white Romona Keveza gown for the occasion, and asked that her guests wear white as well.
Knowles was previously wed to Mathew Knowles, who fathered Beyoncé and Solange, from 1980 to 2011. She admitted there was a time when she doubted she would find love again, but said, “You can find love at any age. You just have to go for it.”
