LOS ANGELES, June 12 (UPI) — TNT says the Season 3 premiere of The Last Ship will not air as planned Sunday night due to this weekend’s mass shooting by a lone gunman at an Orlando nightclub, which left 50 patrons dead.

“After the shootings in Orlando, tonight’s season premiere of The Last Ship is postponed. Our hearts are with the victims and their families,” the cable network tweeted.

The post-apocalyptic drama, which features gun violence, stars Eric Dane, Rhona Mitra, Adam Baldwin and Jocko Sims.

“When a global pandemic wipes out 80 percent of the planet’s population, the crew of a lone naval destroyer must find a way to pull humanity from the brink of extinction,” a synopsis of the show said.
