TORONTO, Dec. 16 (UPI) — Tom Ford’s Drake-inspired lipstick sold-out instantly online mere minutes after it was made available for purchase.
According to Elle.com, high-fashion retailer Net-a-porter ran out of the lipstick Monday with Tom Ford’s New York and Chicago boutiques also confirming selling out of the product with no plans to restock.
The burgundy-shaded lipstick was a part of Tom Ford’s “Lips & Boys” collection which featured colors inspired by 49 other men including actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
Drake responded to the sell-outs on Instagram joking about why stock could have already been depleted. “My mom bought all of them. Hey Ma,” the rapper wrote on Tuesday alongside a photo of the product and a headline announcing the sell-out.
Net-a-porter promises “more stock coming soon” on its new arrivals page while eager fans can purchase the lipstick on ebay for hundreds of dollars.
Tom Ford’s ‘Drake’ lipstick is the latest celebrity-endorsed beauty product to sell-out this holiday season as reality star Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Lipkit also sold out within minutes back in November.
