TORONTO, Aug. 17 (UPI) — A Toronto man whose curiosity was piqued by a heat advisory cracked an egg on his driveway and filmed its progress while it cooked.
Andy Wood, who posted his video to YouTube, said the 97-degree weather led Toronto to issue a heat advisory for Sunday, so he cracked an egg onto his driveway to see if it would “cook.”
Wood filmed the egg for about two hours before examining it with a spatula. The egg white appears to have been absorbed into the concrete, but the yolk seems to have cooked enough to keep itself intact.
“Toronto was under a heat warning so I thought I’d see if it was actually possible to cook an egg on a driveway under 36 degrees Celsius [97 degrees Fahrenheit]. Now think about your skin without sunscreen… ouch,” Wood wrote in the video’s description.
