Trey Songz pleads guilty to misdemeanors in Detroit police clash

Aug. 18 (UPI) — Singer Trey Songz pleaded guilty to a pair of misdemeanors following a clash with police after a concert last year in Detroit.

The 32-year-old singer, whose legal name is Tremaine Neverson, pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges of disturbing the peace on Friday after allegedly throwing equipment and other debris after the Dec. 28 show, TMZ reported.

Neverson allegedly became agitated and belligerent after being told to get of the stage because his time to perform had run out at 11:30 p.m.

He then allegedly began throwing microphones and other objects at police who arrived at the scene to diffuse the situation.

Charges of resisting and obstructing a police officer, as well as aggravated assault, were dismissed as part of Neverson’s plea deal on Friday, E! News reported.

He was sentenced to 18 months probation and will be required to complete anger management classes, submit to substance abuse screenings and pay restitution.
