‘Twin Peaks’ revival releases new teaser

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18 (UPI) — Twin Peaks released an eerie first teaser Friday.

Series co-creator David Lynch shared the video on Twitter, wishing fans a happy holiday. The forthcoming Showtime revival is now in production and will premiere in 2017.

The teaser features the show’s opening theme song by Angelo Badalamenti and returning actor Michael Horse. The 63-year-old star, who plays Deputy Tommy “Hawk” Hill, muses on the importance of location as footage from the Pacific Northwest runs.

“Location sometimes becomes a character… can’t put my finger on how I would describe it. It just touches something in the psyche. It’s almost like being in a moving painting,” Horse says before an abrupt cutaway.

Twin Peaks had a two-season run on ABC from 1990 to 1991, and inspired the 1992 movie Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me. Kyle MacLachlan will reprise Agent Dale Cooper for the revival, which promises “long-awaited answers” and a “satisfying conclusion.”
