UConn still No.1 in AP women’s basketball poll

UConn remains the top team in The Associated Press women’s basketball poll after three more victories this past week.

The Huskies again received all 32 votes Monday from a national media panel after beating Chattanooga, DePaul and Notre Dame. Both the Blue Demons and the Irish stayed within one possession of the Huskies at the half before UConn broke the game open.

South Carolina, Notre Dame, Baylor follow Connecticut. Maryland and Texas are tied for fifth.

Tennessee dropped from eighth to 16th after falling at home to Virginia Tech. Eleven teams in the poll last week lost, including six to unranked opponents. DePaul moved up five spots to No. 18 after its 16-point loss to UConn.

Iowa re-entered the Top 25 at No. 23 while Seton Hall fell out.
