CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Dec. 2 (UPI) — The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was cleared of threats after it was locked down on Wednesday over a report of an armed person on campus.
“UNC has issued the instruction ‘All clear. Resume normal activities’ to the campus community,” the university said in a statement. “The all clear signal means the threat to the campus is over.”
Campus police investigated a report of an armed person near the campus ROTC Building and Venable Hall but found no threat. Classes were previously suspended and everyone was asked to shelter in place.
