President Khalifa issues Federal Decree appointing Secretary General for Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood


WAM ABU DHABI, July 6th, 2013 (WAM)– President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a federal decree appointing Reem Abdullah Eisa Al Falasi as Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.




The new decree is of immediate effect and will be published in the Official Gazette.




On this occasion, H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, has emphasised that the support extended to motherhood and childhood in the UAE is part of the framework of the empowerment programme established as part of the march towards more growth and welfare for the country.




She said that the federal decree represents the culmination of the interest of the wise leadership in motherhood and childhood through supporting the competent bodies and institutions, including the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood. This council plays a great national role with regard to all that is related to women and children, as it launches initiatives to sharpen the skills of women, develop their creativity, raise their awareness and promote their education, she said.




Sheikh Fatima also commended the achievements of the wise leadership in the field of women empowerment for political, economic and social participation, so as to further their stature as partners with men in serving the nation, protecting children and providing a dignified life for them and for future generations.
