BRUSSELS, July 13 (Saba) — The European Union (EU) issued Sunday a condemnation statement of the violence actions that has rocked the city of Amran and surrounding areas in the past few days.
The EU statement strongly condemned the fighting and aggression acts occurred in Amran province among armed militants of Houthi, Islah and Salafi and the army units as well.
It also denounced civilian casualties, urging all parties to abide by the22 June ceasefire agreement, and to allow immediate humanitarian access without any obstruction to the affected areas.
The current actions aimed to ignite violence and undermine the transition process in Yemen, the statement mentioned, adding that all parties must hand over weapons and ammunitions to the national authorities in accordance with the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC) and to effectively participate in the political process under the leadership of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi.
The Security Council resolution 2140 is a clear signal to any spoilers threatening the peace, security and stability of Yemen, the EU statement added.
