Emmylou Harris in alleged hit-and-run

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 29 (UPI) —

Prosecutors in Los Angeles are considering filing hit-and-run charges against singer Emmylou Harris in what her representative said was a minor collision.

Harris, 64 — a 12-time Grammy winner and a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame — allegedly hit a car while driving in Los Angeles Oct. 1, and took off without exchanging information with the other driver, police said.

Citing a police source it did not identify, TMZ reported Saturday Harris was driving a rental car on Interstate 405 when she struck the other car.

Harris’ representative told TMZ the singer was involved in a "minor traffic accident," and said "she unintentionally rubbed bumpers with another vehicle."

The rep said Harris didn’t realize she made contact with another vehicle, so she left.

It is a "garden-variety accident that happens every day on the 405," the rep said.
