Jet veers off taxiway in N.Y.

ALBANY, N.Y., Dec. 29 (UPI) —

United Airlines regional jet veered off a taxiway at the Albany, N.Y., airport Saturday evening, an airport spokesman said. There were no injuries.

Airport spokesman Doug Myers said the plane, Flight 3645 bound for Chicago, wound up about 11 feet off the pavement with its nose gear stuck in snow and about 6 inches of dirt, the Albany Times Union reported.

The 70 passengers were taken off the aircraft, he said.

The newspaper said it was unclear if the snowstorm blanketing the area was a factor in the accident.

The aircraft had not been removed as of 7:40 p.m. EST.
