MTV suspends shooting on 'Buckwild'

SISSONVILLE, W.Va., April 2 (UPI) —

MTV says it has suspended production on its rural West Virginia-set, reality series "Buckwild" after star Shain Gandee was found dead in a truck Monday.

The 12-episode first season was a ratings hit for the cable network, which quickly ordered a second season of the series.

However, the New York Times said shooting on the show has ceased indefinitely following Gandee’s death and MTV executives have declined to comment on its future.

The cause of the three men’s deaths have not been officially determined, but the entertainment news website TMZ cited law-enforcement sources as saying they likely died of carbon-monoxide poisoning after the tail pipe of the truck was submerged in mud while they were inside.

The circumstances of the trio’s deaths also remain under investigation, but the men reportedly were off-roading after a late night out a bar.
