Six die in 2nd explosion at Chinese mine

CHANGCHUN, China, April 2 (UPI) —

Six people were killed and 11 others are missing following a gas explosion at a coal mine in northeastern China’s Jilin Province, a government spokesman said.

The explosion Monday at the state-owned Babao Coal Mine occurred just three days after an explosion killed 28 miners and injured 13 others at the same site, China’s official Xinhua news agency reported.

At the time of the earlier blast, workers were underground repairing a gas leak.
