Kitten rescued from ceiling of Arizona recreation center

TEMPE, Ariz., Sept. 26 (UPI) —

Animal rescuers in Arizona said they had to cut a hole in a ceiling to rescue a 5-week-old cat that was trapped for several days.

The Arizona Humane Society said employees at the Pyle Adult Recreation Center in Tempe called the society’s Emergency Animal Medical Technicians for help after hearing the kitten’s cries for several days and being unable to pinpoint the animal’s location, KTVK-TV, Phoenix, reported Thursday.

Andy Gallo with the Humane Society said he and his team had to cut a hole in the ceiling to find the trapped feline, a kitten they dubbed Libby.

"Best, most destructive, most rewarding and hardest rescue to date," Gallo said.
