Japanese cargo ship, freighter collide; one man reported missing

TOKYO, Sept. 27 (UPI) —

Five men were injured and one was missing Friday after a cargo ship collided with a freighter and capsized south of Tokyo, the Japan Coast Guard said.

The 498-ton cargo ship Eifuku Maru No. 18 and 2,962-ton freighter Jia Hui collided about about 62 miles from Tokyo and 7 miles west of Izu-Oshima Island, Kyodo reported.

The coast guard said it had rescued the men who were injured and was searching for a sixth man. All had been on the cargo vessel.
