SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey says central Chile has been hit by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake.
The quake struck at 4:31 a.m. 47 kilometers (29 miles) southwest of the city of Ovalle, nearly 300 kilometers (185 miles) northwest of the capital of Santiago. It struck at a depth of 36 kilometers (22 miles).
No immediate damages have been reported.
