HOLLYWOOD, Sept. 11 (UPI) — Actress Vivica A. Fox will be starring in the second season of Empire as Cookie Lyon’s oldest sister,
it was announced Thursday.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Fox’s character seeks out her younger sister for unspecified reasons, and they aren’t expected to be sweet.
“Cookie’s other family members are troublesome to say the least,” the show’s executive producer, Ilene Chalken, told the outlet. The eldest sister will reportedly emerge onto the scene in episode eight.
Fox is the latest star to be announced as part of Empire’s growing cast. In early August, the series’ co-creator Lee Daniels announced singer Mariah Carey will appear in the next season; singer Kelly Rowland was announced as part of the show previously in July.
