NEW YORK, Oct. 22 (UPI) — Netflix has released the first trailer for Aziz Ansari’s new original comedy series, Master of None.
Ansari, who created the show along with Parks & Recreation executive producer Alan Young, stars, writes and directs the upcoming 10-episode series that is loosely based on the comedian’s own life experiences.
“Based on the comedic viewpoints of Aziz Ansari, the show follows the personal and professional lives of Dev, a 30-year-old actor in New York who has trouble deciding what he wants to eat, much less the pathway for the rest of his life,” reads the official synopsis.
As seen in the trailer, Dev will be encountering plenty of awkward situations involving sex and race as he navigates through the dating scene in New York City. According to Netflix, Master of None will also touch on “subjects as diverse as the plight of the elderly, the immigrant experience, and how to find the most delicious pasta for dinner.”
Ansari will be joined by Archer’s H. Jon Benjamin, Tim and Eric’s Eric Wareheim, The Comeback’s Lena Waithe, and Popular’s Kelvin Yu.
Master of None is set to debut on Netflix Nov. 6.
