NEW YORK, Oct. 30 (UPI) — Gigi Hadid has now earned the right to walk the runway during Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show after an emotional audition that left the model in tears.
Victoria’s Secret took to social media Thursday to post footage of Hadid’s tryout giving fans an inside look at the audition process that goes on for the fashion show.
The video features the 20-year-old doing her best runway strut in the company’s signature all black lingerie as judges look on.
As Hadid reaches the end of the catwalk, she is overcome with emotion and drops down to the floor in tears after one judge announced that she had made the cut. “We love surprises…and we just gave a BIG one to @GigiHadid at today’s #VSFashionShow castings,” Victoria’s Secret captioned the video on Instagram of Hadid hearing the news. “See you on the runway, Gigi.”
Hadid also commented on the moment posting of photo of her reaction while mentioning how the opportunity was a dream come true. “Couldn’t keep back my tears!!!!,” she wrote. “Anyone that grew up with me knows that getting this show has been a dream of mine forever! THANK YOU @victoriassecret & @ed_razek! One of the happiest moments of my life.”
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will take place on Nov. 9 and 10, and will air Tuesday, Dec. 8 on CBS.
