HOUSTON, Oct. 2 (UPI) — Fashion designer turned film director Tom Ford released a runway music video featuring Lady Gaga Friday to showcase his new spring 2016 collection.
The clip, directed by Nick Knight, stars Lady Gaga and a group of fashion models as they strut down a colorfully lit runway wearing eye-popping outfits from Ford’s new collection.
Gaga covered the 70’s classic ‘I Want Your Love’ by Chic for the video that ended speculation that Ford was skipping out on fashion shows this year.
“Instead of having a traditional show this season, I decided to try something new,the 54-year-old told WWD. “I wanted to think about how to present a collection in a cinematic way that was designed from its inception to be presented online.”
Ford is currently filming his next big-screen effort, Nocturnal Animals starring Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal.
In September, it was announced that Gaga would be presented with Billboard’s 2015 Woman of the Year award. The award celebrates outstanding female artists for their work and positive influence over social issues. Gaga — or Stefani Germanotta — joins the ranks of previous Women of the Year including Taylor Swift, Pink, Katy Perry and Beyonce.
