Wayne Static died of an alcohol and prescription drug overdose

LOS ANGELES, March 15 (UPI) — Musician Wayne Static’s November death in California was due to a fatal combination of alcohol and prescription drugs, including Oxycodone and Alprazolam.

{link:TMZ quoted the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office as saying: “http://www.tmz.com/2015/03/14/wayne-static-cause-of-death-drugs-alcohol-oxycodone-static-x//?adid=TMZ_Search_Results”,nw} chronic drug and alcohol abuse also played a factor in the death of the former Static-X frontman.

Static helped found the heavy-metal band in 1994 and he was the last original member when it broke up in 2014.

“Wayne Static was the enigmatic former frontman and namesake of Static-X, who later forged a successful solo career. Wayne was scheduled to co-headline tours with Powerman 5000 and Drowning Pool over the next several months,” his bandmates said in a Facebook post last fall, announcing Static’s death at the age of 48.
